  1. Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By entering the Totally Chaotic History Museum Trail Book Competition (“The Book Giveaway”) you confirm that you have read them. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions may result in your disqualification.
  2. The Book Giveaway is being run by Kids in Museums (the “Promoter”) – a company registered in England (05809200). Kids in Museums’ administrative address is 2nd Floor Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London, E1 6LA.
  3. The Book Giveaway is not open to staff or Trustees of Kids in Museums or their immediate families.
  4. To enter the Book Giveaway, you must be a UK resident aged 13 or over. If you are under the age of 13, you must have your parent, guardian or carer’s permission to enter and ask them to enter using their social media account. If you are aged between 13 and 16 you may enter using your own social media account, but must have your parent, guardian or carer’s permission to accept these terms and conditions. If you do not understand these terms and conditions please ask your parent, guardian or carer to explain them. Kids in Museums may ask for proof of age and parental/guardian/carer consent from Book Giveaway participants and winners.
  5. One copy of Totally Chaotic History: Ancient Egypt Gets Unruly by Greg Jenner, illustrated by Rikin Parekh, published by Walker Books Ltd (the “Publisher”) and a Double Art Pass plus Kids donated by Art Fund (terms and conditions) – will be given away to a single entrant during the Book Giveaway. The prize is non-transferable. There is no cash alternative available.
  6. To enter the Book Giveaway, you must share your hieroglyph drawing on Twitter/X or Instagram with the hashtag #TCHMuseumTrail and tag @kidsinmuseums. You must be following Kids in Museums on whatever platform you enter through.
  7. The Book Giveaway runs from Saturday 23 March 2024  until 11.59pm (BST) on Sunday 14 April 2024. Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
  8. No purchase is necessary to enter the Book Giveaway and will not increase your chances of winning.
  9. Kids in Museums accepts no responsibility for entries that do not reach us by the closing date, are incomplete or corrupted.
  10. Entries that contain defamatory, discriminatory, pornographic or illegal content will be disqualified. If Kids in Museums believes your entry has breached the guidelines of the platform on which it was made, we will report your account following the processes of that platform.
  11. You confirm that your entry is your own original work, is not defamatory and does not infringe any laws, including privacy laws, whether of the UK or elsewhere, or any rights of any third party, that no other person was involved in the creation of your entry, that you have the right to give Promoter and its respective licensees permission to use it for the purposes of the Book Giveaway, that you have the consent of anyone who is identifiable in your contribution or the consent of their parent, guardian or carer. You also agree that your entry does not transfer computer viruses or other harmful online materials.
  12. The winner of the Book Giveaway will be selected by Kids in Museums. Our decision is final.
  13. The winner of the Book Giveaway will be contacted on the social media platform on which they entered. Entrants must confirm their acceptance of the prize and send relevant contact details to Kids in Museums within five working days of being contacted with the information that they have won.
  14. Any information provided to Kids in Museums for the purposes of the Book Giveaway will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Data provided will only be used to administer the Book Giveaway and will not be stored or used for other purposes unless relevant consent is provided.
  15. Failure by the winner to provide relevant contact information within the timescale specified in advance may result in their prize being forfeited and another winner chosen.
  16. Kids in Museums may disqualify anyone seen to be tampering or interfering with its website or social media channels during the Book Giveaway.
  17. Kids in Museums may at its discretion amend these terms and conditions or offer an alternative prize of equivalent cash value if required.
  18. All activities undertaken to enter the Book Giveaway are undertaken at the entrants’ own risk. Your legal rights under English law are not affected.
