Following a competitive application process, Shane Kavanagh, Commercial Director of Benugo, has been appointed to the Kids in Museums Board.

A law graduate of Cardiff University, Shane began his career at Benugo in 2004 and led the mobilisation of Benugo in venues across the cultural sector, such as the BFI, British Museum, Edinburgh Castle, V&A Museum and the Science Museum. Shane rejoined Benugo as commercial director in 2020 to oversee food, marketing and growth for the company following four years as Chief Executive of Crussh, the Fit Food and juice bar business.

Shane lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young girls, and is passionate about improving the access of families to museums and the positive experiences cultural venues can offer.

Emmajane Avery, Chair of Kids in Museums, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Shane to the Kids in Museums Board. His experience of business development and operational museum practice will be a great strength to the charity as we continue our work to support the heritage sector.”

Kids in Museums is governed by a board of 13 trustees, who lend their expertise to shape the future direction of the charity. For more information about the Kids in Museums Board, please see our Trustees page.
