From steam spectaculars to exciting learning activities, Locomotion has something for everyone. Entry is free, there is an accessible free car park, family friendly facilities including picnic areas and a playground, a cafe and shop, and free activities all year round for schools and families. Locomotion Museum is part of the Science Museum Group which includes the National Railway Museum.

Do we have a Youth Group?
Locomotion Youth Team
The Locomotion Youth Team meets every 2 months, alternating between in-person on a Saturday morning and on-line on a Monday evening.
The Team get involved in all sorts of things, including coordinating and leading on Locomotion Lates events, Heritage Open Day programmes, special projects, and big event days including Lego and Takeovers. We are expanding opportunities for the Team to get more hands on with our engineering collections and restoration work too.
All members are registered as museum volunteers and receive branded t-shirts. We welcome new members to our friendly bunch.
