Teen Twitter Takeover will take place on Friday 3 August 2018.
Get in touch to get involved!
On 11 August 2017 over 60 cultural and heritage organisations across the UK handed over their Twitter feeds to teenagers. With 68 museum handles involved and over 300 young people, hundreds of tweets were shared. Even @KidsinMuseums own account was taken over.
This project empowers teenagers, giving them a voice. Many organisations use Teen Twitter Takeover as a springboard into working with young people for Takeover Day – a day where young people have a meaningful role anywhere within a museum. They can be pest controllers, tour guides, curators, social media reporters, conservators, interpreters, front of house or café workers.
