Do you want to create a family focus group to improve your provision for families, but aren’t sure where to start?

Three children are sitting together around a laptop. On the left of the image, text reads "Kids in Museums. Creating successful family focus groups. Tuesday 28 June, 10am-12:20pm."

About this training

This training webinar will be led by Sarah Shaw, former National Family Interpretation Manager for English Heritage. Her work included collaboratively designing family friendly experiences with families at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Birdoswald Roman Fort, which won the Best Family Day Out UK Heritage Award in 2020.

The session will help delegates to:

  • find the best starting point for creating family focus groups, including how to recruit families
  • develop fun and inclusive activities to help you successfully consult with families
  • think about how to analyse and disseminate data after the focus group has taken place
  • gain practical top tips to take your work forward.

Take a look at the full schedule.

This training event will be delivered virtually over one half-day session (two hours and 30 minutes with a short break).

Who should attend?

This training is aimed at staff who work in museums, art galleries and heritage sites who are interested in developing successful ways to consult with families to improve their provision for this audience.
