In his new book, much-loved illustrator Nick Sharratt invites you to stroll around eight magnificently silly museums in this giggle-fest of a book packed with drawing activities. Readers are invited to design a museum inspired by you – the ‘All-About-You-seum’.

Enter our All About You-seum competition, inspired by Nick’s new book!

  • Do you love visiting museums?
  • Do you like drawing?
  • Are you between 5-11 years old?

For this competition we want children to submit their ideas for a museum that represents their personality and interests – your design can be as silly as you like! Your drawing should be one page and inspired by your life, personality, interests and what you think makes a great museum.

You could win an Art Fund Family Membership, a virtual school visit with Nick Sharratt plus £100 worth of picture books!

Submit your entry by 20 May 2022 via email with the subject line ‘Super Silly Museums Competition’: [email protected]

Read the full Terms and Conditions.

We will judge the entries alongside Nick Sharratt, a panel at Scholastic UK and directors at recent winners of the Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award: Horniman Museum, London Transport Museum and the Postal Museum.

The competition was announced to hundreds of schools in a Scholastic Schools Live virtual event hosted by Nick Sharratt on Wednesday 2 March.

Stay tuned on the Kids in Museums Facebook and Instagram pages for more family book giveaways to come! Good luck!

Looking for a fun free way to engage families? Share our new Super Silly Museums activity sheet with families at your site. With this online trail, they can create their own adventure by seeing how many things they can spot from the book at your museum.

We are also giving away three copies of Super Silly Museums to museums on Twitter. Museums can use the book to create a family giveaway or to add to a storytelling corner.

To be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book for your museum, simply share a picture with us on Twitter of one object in your museum that matches an object on the Super Silly Museums activity sheet, tagging our account @kidsinmuseums. You must also follow us on Twitter.

Share your entries by Friday 18 March 2022. The winners will be contacted the following week on Twitter. Read the full Terms and Conditions.

Museums interested in stocking the copies of the book can contact Scholastic by email: [email protected]
