1. Play Open Your Window Bingo with the Museum of Zoology

If you’re lucky enough to have a local green space to explore, give this game a go. What birds, plants, butterflies or other animals can you see? Download your bingo card.

2. Make a Norman soldier’s helmet with Reading Museum

And find a whole host of other activities exploring the Bayeux Tapestry, the Roman Empire, Ancient Egypt and more on the Reading Museum website.

3. Recreate a coronation with Westminster Abbey [ENDED]

On Friday (17 April), Westminster Abbey is holding a Facebook Live activity session on Kings, Queens and Coronations. Designed for primary aged children, the session will share stories from the Abbey’s long history and show you how you can recreate a coronation ceremony at home! Tune in at 10.30am on the Westminster Abbey Facebook page.

4. Get to grips with the Great Fire of London with the Museum of London

Learn how the Great Fire started with the Museum of London’s Great Fire of London game. You can also download free Minecraft maps, showing detailed virtual models of 17th century London – and how it burnt down.

5. Blow bubbles with Void Gallery [ENDED]

Want to make giant bubbles? Tune into the Void Gallery’s family workshop on Thursday 16 April at 11am on Facebook and Instagram. Check the ingredient list in advance.

6. Visit the Vikings with the Yorkshire Museum of Farming

Discover what life in a Viking village was like through Murton Park’s series of activity videos. Find out how to make an oil lamp, bake bread, play games and more on the museum’s Facebook page.

7. Write a short story with Lincoln Castle [ENDED]

Lucy the dragon has been a visitor to Lincoln Castle for over 1,000 years. Imagine what she must have seen and tell her stories in this new competition. The only limit is your imagination!

8. Test your engineering skills with the Tank Museum [ENDED]

Every Monday the Tank Museum is setting a new challenge for school children, from making a model tank to designing a shop front. Visit the Tank Museum Twitter account to find the latest challenge.

9. Go on Adventures in History with the Imperial War Museum [ENDED]

Each Wednesday families can explore a different theme inspired by the national curriculum in a new video from the Imperial War Museum. Families will have the chance to get their questions answered by an expert in the comments section.

10. Get crafty with Two Temple Place

Get creative at home with these free family art resources. Have a go at making a toilet roll yarn monster, a magic carpet, an origami boat and much more!
