Dinosaurs will take over Enginuity this February half-term as the stars of a new augmented reality experience. Thanks to state of the art technology, visitors to the museum between February 19 – 23 will see themselves on screen, surrounded by a series of prehistoric creatures.
Along with the augmented reality experience, which is included in admission fee, visitors will have the chance to make – and then fly – their very own Pterodactyl model, and young archaeologists will be invited to Dig A Dinosaur in the museum’s very own sand-pit.
On January 28, February 4 and February 11, the museum will also be hosting a series of coding workshops for children and their families. Participants will learn basic block coding skills before going onto bigger challenges, such as creating animated games via Scratch, controlling robots and programming a BBC Micro:bit. No previous experience is necessary to take part, and the sessions will take place from 10am – 12pm in the museum’s Fab Lab. Each session costs £5 per person per session, or £10 per person for all three.

Enginuity is just one of 10 sites which make up the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. At Kids in Museums, we are thrilled to have them signed up to our Kids in Museums Manifesto, a toolkit which helps museums, galleries and heritage sites to put children and young people at the heart of what they do.
