Culture Minister, Matt Hancock, goes on tour around West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, West Suffolk with child guides for Takeover Day – the annual day on which museums are run by children.

Minister of State for Digital and Culture Matt Hancock said: “Takeover Day is a fantastic event that encourages children from across the country to visit and enjoy our brilliant museums.

“I was delighted to see the enthusiasm of the young people at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village and hear their great ideas.”

Over 150 museums were run by almost 4000 children for Takeover Day, doing the jobs adults usually do. They were pest controllers, tour guides, curators, conservators, interpreters, front of house and worked in the café. Takeover Day is run by charity Kids in Museums.
