In 2013 over 115 organisations were involved across England and over 3,000 children and young people. They were museum directors, front of house, curators, conservators, tour guides, website designers and catering staff.
Here’s how we helped:
- Online resources, including fact sheets, case studies and tips, downloadable from our website.
- Our Takeover Day team have been supporting with individual queries or advice,firstname.lastname@example.org
- Free ‘We’re Taking Over’ materials for all your children and young people taking part have been sent out to venues.
“This is my second takeover day. Last time I told them about needing better access for wheelchair users. Now they have an extra ramp and better signs so I feel I helped to make an improvement to the Geffrye museum.”
“We took over The Roald Dahl Museum & had most splendiferous day. Thank you for this opportunity!”
“I think if a little bit of lots of people’s ideas are put together that will be great. It’s good to be asked what I think”
“It’s good that you let the kids feel special for the day. When the kids feel that their input will be heard they really want to get involved with their opinions.”
“Thanks a lot for inviting us all it was really fun, I look forward to coming here again!”
